about

from the Concept "Cipher"

Cipher – BODY, MIND and SPIRIT
The Dictionary definition of cipher: is a message encrypted by a secret code.

What is the relationship between the body, mind and spirit?
As people get to know one another through their behaviour, movement, voice or smell; they begin to appreciate their origins. I would say that these are what define the shape of our SPIRIT. It would seem that all parts of the BODY have ciphers which can indicate the type of SPIRIT a person possesses.

When you talk to someone, which part of their BODY holds your attention? Their Face, their hands, their legs? When you are interested in someone, you might focus on their face as a whole or one particular part such as their mouth or eyes. Why? Because maybe it is possible to learn someone’s character from particular parts of their BODY which has its own expression.
An expression which is created not just by the person’s movement or history, but perhaps, their destiny. Take palm reading or reflexology as examples, here, the hands and feet can tell a person’s personality, and maybe their future.

Both island nations, but compared to the British, the Japanese are smaller and slender, with a different MIND and SPIRIT, yielding a culture with a strong relation to physical aesthetics. Of course, the environment has it’s role to play and has a considerable effect.

Have you ever wondered why people who are interested in a particular culture tend to have a sexual attraction to those from that cultural background; could this be because they have a deeper awareness of the other’s MIND, so there is a stronger connection to their BODY and SPIRIT.
Do Japanese girls who are interested in British culture tend to be more sexually attracted to British boys than Japanese boys? Could this be because the Japanese girl finds it easier to understand the MIND of the British boy?
IF THE CULTURE IS EMBODIES BY THE SPIRIT, THEN THE INTEREST IN A PERSON’S SPIRIT WILLTEND TO FOLLOW AN ATTRACTION TO THE BODY.

I believe in the past we originally existed as ONE, then we started using “I”, “you” and “it”, drawing lines that separated and differentiated us.
In the case of Love, if a person loves someone, there is a definite possibility for this love to be reciprocated if we are pieces of a jigsaw, the same entity. So Love may well be when you find the piece in you which joins the one you love, it just depends on WHEN you join your pieces. When – because love is about timing as well, and maybe our pieces are constantly changing shape and love occurs if we join pieces at the right time.

From our beginnings as pieces of that ONE entity, we have spread everywhere, we have fashioned our own creation with items such as machines, buildings, furniture. The first split may have divided man and woman, animals, water, soil, etc. Our own creations split us more further.
That original ONE is now so segmented that we are lost amongst the pieces and no longer notice that we used to exist as ONE. People stopped respecting their BODY, MIND and SPIRIT, illustrated by our social horrors such as murder, child abuse, robbery
We are surrounded by millions of our wonderful creations, but we are confused.

We are manufacturing too many different worlds from this ONE. In creating those items which are aesthetically pleasing, our minds are restricted to calling them beautiful, and items are given the wrong classification. Likewise, something that is not ugly, may be designated so. Negative connotations are cast on normal objects such as school uniforms which adolescence can think of as disgusting, nasty, horrible. It’s with the same brush that we tarnish the colour black as bad or associate the darkness with fear.

As an artist, I would like to move all these new pieces apart, rearrange and put them back together, by finding objects which have been disposed of, recyclable materials; separate them into components and join them with the components of others.

Through my study of the Japanese religion Shinto, I learnt all objects have kami (SPIRIT) and we must respect kami. We share a relationship with everything in this world, therefore by allowing it to be damaged, we are harming ourselves. We’ve reached this current point in our human history and cannot go back to undo our errors, so can only repair the damage by working to improve our future.
It could be an abstract mode to approach the subject, but I want to begin by using my beliefs and ideas to create art which will help people realize that we need to be aware of ourselves and act now.

lyrics

Numbness

Love is to grow… so let me feed it
Don’t drag me into your numbness. Don’t leave a mass of your puzzle

Shuffled mind Tortured soul But don’t change your shape

Fallen minds Still Above the death I hold them under
‘til you feel no weight by them If I’m still wakened. (me, no,) well, I won’t collapse
This now is only you

Your floating smiles, pain, innocence and bind create your image of the light…
Leisurely….. it fades away when I reach out my hand out
You’re afraid of being so (My wishes, my dreams and…)
(I don’t mind if it’s real or…)
Beams of you up and down reach your being through the air (your dream)

If I see you on horizon, even if it’s one way. I’ll fly to hold you
(love me here) (crying, on your skin, tears)
If I’m no more, you’ll be fallen. Remnants of you stay on the roughness

You make yourself down down (Jeers make you down down)
Like a lamb on the lonely hill
If you let me love you, all the things you’ve lost will be here.

Is that you?
Let me prove you, oh, if you show me you
Pure silence in you, I’m the only one can hear

(Turn and turn your traces, your cipher. What happened to my ciphers? Wheel and wheel. My wish‘s to grow our happiness beside you….)
